News for buyers the government has extend its new home buyer credit of $8000 through April 2010.

The news even gets better: if you have lived in your home  for 5 years or longer you are eligible for a $6500 credit if you are buying a new primary home.

1. Buyers tend to be more serious during the holiday season. Many are seeking a tax advantage before end of year.
2.  Many sellers wait until the new year, so there can be less competition during the Holidays. 

3. Homes usually present better and are more welcoming to buyers because of holiday spirit.

4. Interest rates are still low ....  but may rise after the first of the year

5. Buyers and agents become familiar with your home early, before the new year rush of inventory.
